Milford Delaware Schools
PUBLIC SCHOOLS
The main public school system in Milford would be Milford School District. It consists of an Early Childhood Center, 2 Elementary Schools, 1 Middle School, & 1 High School. Overall there about 3.800 students in the Milford School District.
The Early Childhood Center starts works with children at 3 years old, Pre-K, Kindergarten, as well as First grade. |
Benjamin Banneker Elementary School dates back to the mid 1800's. In 2003, a whole new building was built with state-of-the-art facilities. They were given the Star School award for 2006-2007 by the Department of Education for the Positive Behavior Support program. This school is for students grades 2-5.
LuLu M. Ross Elementary School was named a Blue Ribbon School by the Department of Education. This is from the "no child left behind" legislation. It was was also named a superior school by the State of Delaware. This is also for children grades 2-5.
Milford Middle School is for Children grades 6-8. They offer a wide arrange of school activities. This includes Basketball, Football, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Wrestling, Field Hockey, Cross Country, Cheerleading, Competition Cheerleading, Student Council, Student Mentoring Program, Odyssesy of the Mind, Math League, Chorus, Black History Gospel Choir, Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, After School Tutoring, as well as After School Library.
Milford High School serves children grades 9 through 12, with approximately 1,150 children attending. There are a lot more activities that are offered for the High School students than there are for the Middle School students. The classes and schedules are based on four different pathways.

Milford Christian School: Location is at the First Baptist Church Of Milford. This school starts for children 3 years old, through high school. It is said through Delaware Christian Schools that over 80% of the graduates go on to further their education. They compete with other Christian Schools through sports, Bible, Music, Art, as well as Academics. Student teacher ratio average is 10 to 1.
